Island Club | The Beer Truck is retapped for the big party! Join with others and celebrate another season starting at Put-in-Bay. Make some new friends. Eat a burger or two (We mean it! PLEASE EAT!!! We buy over 1000 burgers, 500 hotdogs, condiments, cheese, chips, salads, and more. Tables and chairs abound so you can find a good spot and hang out. Portapotties are lined up so you don't have to worry about running back to your hotel if you fill up on beer. Make sure you have your wristbands on and bring your IDs with you, as we have security at the entrances to keep out the riff raff and make sure we are in compliance with Ohio Liquor Laws. |

Entertainer Information
J.D. Owen has been entertaining crowds and jamming out for over 30 years. Music has always been a part of his life. He received his first guitar at age 5. Soon thereafter he began to train and hone his skills. Also, he soon realized he had been blessed with a vocal range beyond the average bear, about two and a half octaves. By 1977 he had joined his first serious band and began his musical career. After joining the Marine Corp, J.D.'s love for music persisted and he joined band while in the service. J.D. then embarked on tour with several national acts, but soon become disenfranchised with the foibles of the industry. So, he sought out to be a solo artist and played gigs in Findlay, Ohio. Soon though, his energy and charisma was sought after by many Put in Bay business owners to provide entertainment. J.D. quickly became a favored island entertainer.
For 13 years at Put in Bay J.D. Owen has been making great music and great friends. His passion for music is very evident. Every Monday J.D. offers guitar lessons to assist in enabling others to learn guitar. He encouraged those interested in pursuing music to have conviction and feeling in their music. The repertoire of songs continues to grow as J.D. learns new material every year, and sharpens his skills a minimum of four hours per week. Crowd participation and interaction is a crucial aspect of his shows. The fun atmosphere and range of music sets him apart from the rest. J.D. has stated before that he does not have fans, rather friends that he parties with. So don't forget to "Get the Party Goin' With J.D. Owen!"
Transportation Information
To make your way to Put-in-Bay climb aboard the Jet Express, the fastest way to Put-in-Bay. Their fleet is composed of some of the Nation's fastest Water-Jet Catamarans that gracefully transport you to the Island. During the 25 minute excursion from Port Clinton to Put-in-Bay, passengers enjoy a narrated tour that includes educational information on the PIB and the Lake Erie Islands. Ferry service is also available at the Jet Express's Sandusky docks.
Passengers can choose to sit in the comfortably appointed interior cabin or immense themselves in the scenery on the rooftop open air seating. Both provide great comfort and excitement en route to your Put-in-Bay visit. The first level offers no stairs to climb and great ease and comfort for handicapped guests. Kids that are 5 and under can ride at no charge and will surely revel the experience of a Jet Express voyage. The young at heart alike will enjoy the thrill of their trip to Put-in-Bay and the Lake Erie Islands.
The Jet Express departs frequently from Port Clinton, Ohio and Sandusky, Ohio to Put-in-Bay. They are the only the ferry service to offer late night service. This allows you to make the most of your trip to Put-in-Bay and experience some of the renowned night life. Also, the location of the Jet Express dock in downtown Put-in-Bay puts you right in the action.
